Abstract | TIG/MIG hybrid welding process is an advantageous welding process aiming to increase MIG arc stability in pure Ar shielding gas. A 2D coupled transient model was developed to stimulate the arc phenomena in TIG/MIG hybrid welding using Ansys fluent software. The simulation results indicated that strong arc interaction was achieved by introducing the TIG current, which affects the arc stability of MIG due to the effects of electromagnetic repulsion force. |
