Gold, Rare Earth and Materials Technopreneurship Center (GREAT) is organizing a seminar in opening up opportunities to establish cooperation between academician, government agencies and industries in intensifying activities related to gold mining, rare earth metals and minerals  in the east coast area and related areas. The seminar will focus on discussing issues and technology especially related to rare earth elements (REE) and minerals in Malaysia. SMART targets participation among students, lecturers and researchers from universities, research centres, public and private agencies and related organisations from locals and international. It is also hoped that SMART will also be a platform to promote GREAT and other research collaborators which are specialising on mineral resources and technology in Malaysia. 

This Seminar on Mineral Resources & Technology (SMART) is scheduled to take place on 28 August 2023, which is held in conjunction with the International Conference on Bioengineering and Technology (IConBET 2023) organized by the Faculty of Bioengineering and Technology. The seminar is also the result of strategic collaboration between numbers of collaborators throughout Malaysia.

OBJECTIVES

1. The Seminar on Mineral Resources & Technology (SMART) was held with the aim of opening up opportunities to establish cooperation between universities, government agencies and industries in intensifying activities related to gold mining, rare earth elements  and mineral technology. 
2. To discuss issues and technology related to gold mining, rare earth elements  and minerals in Malaysia.
3. To introduce the GREAT centre and other strategic collaborators in expanding Service, Research and Entrepreneurship activities involving gold mining, rare earth elements and minerals in Malaysia.
